INTERNATIONAL EVENTING STARS AT PUHINUI

The  appearance of our most famous international eventer will add a real shine to this year’s Puhinui 3 Day Event.  The World No 1 ranked Eventing Rider, Andrew Nicholson, will be attending the Manukau event – his first appearance at a New Zealand horse trial for well over ten years.  Fresh from a huge and successful season on the European circuit, Andrew will be at Puhinui Reserve on Thursday afternoon for the trot up (vet inspection) and all day Friday, the first day of the competition.

RESULTS OF THE ONE DAY EVENT CLASSES AT 2012 PUHINUI

While the FEI CCI (three day event) classes were going on, there was also a lot of action with other classes for less experienced horses.

In the Horse & Pony CCNPN 3 day event class, Cherie Jaques and Tobinator just squeaked in front of Zoie Gray on FIS Overcast to take out the win. Rosa Rieger and Kaitai were in 3rd ahead of Monica Oakley on Saltador. Cantabrian Kirsty Sharapoff was 5th.

PUHINUI THREE DAY EVENT HAS BIG IMPACT

The Puhinui Three Day Event this weekend marks the halfway stage in the Bell Tea Super League, which runs throughout the competition year. It will have huge impact on the series as double points are earned at three-day events.

The CCI3* (Advanced) class has a quality field of twelve of the country’s top performers, including seven of the first eight on the Super League table.

PUHINUI PROMISES PLENTY OF ACTION

Puhinui 3 Day entries have now closed, and looking at the entry list, its shaping up to be a tough competition!
