PUHINUI THREE DAY EVENT 2011 - HUNTER DERBY CLASSES

Classes

Class 7	80cm	16 years and under	Placings 1st – 10th
Class 8	80cm	17 years and over	Placings 1st – 10th
Class 9	95cm	16 years and under	Placings 1st – 10th
Class 10	95cm	17 years and over	Placings 1st – 10th
Class 11		Team Competition	Placings 1st – 4th

Each team will consist of four riders (top three scores counted).
A team can be a combination of any competitors in any classes.
Teams to be nominated to the Derby Secretary on the day.

Course

The course will consist of approximately 20 fences that will be a mixture of showhunter, showjumps and cross country type fences, including a bank and roll tops. There will be easier, lower, options to be taken at some fences.

Judging

The competition will be judged on style over the fences and the way of going between the fences. The way of going should be forward but with control, rhythm and balance. Harmony between horse and rider will be taken into consideration.

Dress and Presentation

Formal riding attire should be worn – riding jacket, pale coloured jodhpurs, tie/stock and long boots for 17 years and over (children may wear jodhpur boots). Horses/ponies are required to be clean and plaited and tack tidy.

Prizegiving

Prizegivings will be held at the conclusion of classes 8, 10 and 11.
Ist place getters only are required to be mounted (including all members of the winning team challenge) other place getters to be in formal riding attire please out of respect to the sponsors.
